The Rhine falls
The Rhine falls are located in Schaffhouse (german : Schaffhausen) in Switzerland on the segment of the Rhine between the lake of Constance (german : Bodensee) and the Swiss city Basel.
The Swiss-German border around Schaffhouse is somehow indented. Driving from inner (west) Switzerland towards Schaffhouse may require to cross the border mulitiple times. Funilly, half of the the Rhine falls are located in the Canton of Schaffhouse and the other half in the Canton of Zürich.
The Rhine falls are some 150 m wide and 23 m high. The water flow varies between 100 and 1200 m
3/s, according to the season. The Rhine falls are said to exist since about 15 000 years.
